Former Michigan State volleyball coach Cathy George is returning to coaching and will lead the West Michigan Pro Volleyball team. The team was founded in December of 2022 and will be part of the Pro Volleyball Federation, a new league that is set to start playing in 2024.
The new women’s volleyball team, Grand Rapids Rise, made their way to their new home court at Van Andel before the start of their new season.
While the new team has only had two practices, it’s clear they’re already bonding and growing into something special.
The Grand Rapids Rise started mini camp this week head of their inaugural season that will start in January. The pro volleyball team hosted fans at Van Andel Arena on Thursday for a youth camp and open practice.
